Simultaneous test procedures in terms of p-value copulae

چکیده

At least since Gabriel (1969), a broad class of multiple comparison procedures, socalled simultaneous test procedures (STPs), is established in the statistical literature. Elements of an STP are a testing family (H, T ), consisting of a set of null hypotheses and corresponding test statistics, and a common critical constant cα. The threshold cα with which each of the test statistics has to be compared is calculated under the (joint) intersection hypothesis of H. Under certain structural assumptions on (H, T ), the so-constructed STP provides strong control of the family-wise error rate, FWER for short, at level α. More recently, Hothorn et al. (2008) developed a general method to construct STPs in the case of asymptotic (joint) normality of the family T of test statistics, and provided numerical solutions to compute cα in such cases.

A copula goodness-of-fit test based on the probability integral transform

Copulae is one of the main ways of modelling dependence. However, to check whether the dependency structure of a data set is appropriately modelled by a chosen family of copulae, there is no recommended method agreed upon. We introduce a new goodnessof-fit test, based on the probability integral transform. The test is consistent, meaning that no deviations from the null hypothesis are neglected...

Negative (lu and Ul) Tail Dependence Using Copulae

This paper studies the four types: lower, upper, lower-upper and upper-lower focusing on developping theory to measure the negative tail dependence Introduction As a consequence of globalization and relaxed regulations on financial and insurance markets the dependencies between financial time series have increased during recent times. Particularly in extreme events such as economic crisis, thes...

A Goodness-of-fit Test for Copulae Based on the Probability Integral Transform

Copulae is a growing field of interest and application for dependency modelling. There is however no predominant way of choosing the copula model that best fits a given data set. We introduce a new goodness-of-fit test, based on the probability integral transform. The test is consistent, numerically efficient and incorporates a weighting functionality. Results show that the test performs well a...

Generalized Diagonal Band Copulas with Two-Sided Generating Densities

Copulae are joint continuous distributions with uniform marginals and have been proposed to capture probabilistic dependence between random variables. Maximum entropy copulae introduced by Bedford and Meeuwissen (1997) provide experts the option of making minimally informative assumptions given a degree of dependence constraint between two random variables. Unfortunately, their distributions fu...

Credit Risk Modelling and Estimation via Elliptical Copulae

Dependence modelling plays a crucial role within internal credit risk models. The theory of copulae, which describes the dependence structure between a multi-dimensional distribution function and the corresponding marginal distributions, provides useful tools for dependence modelling. The difficulty in employing copulae for internal credit risk models arises from the appropriate choice of a cop...
